What is a stroke?

In stroke or stroke, it is a circulatory disease which affects the arteries or veins of the brain, whereby the supply or the discharge of the blood is interrupted. Hence the supply of oxygen and nutrients is blocked.

A stroke occurs when one of the blood vessels of the brain ruptures (hemorrhagic stroke) or blocked by a blood clot (bloodless stroke). The local result of the closure or tearing of a vessel are oxygen and nutrient deficiency in a localized region of the brain, brain cells begin to die where.

Types of stroke
The most common type of stroke caused by a cerebral embolism, in which a blood clot in the blood stream into an artery leading to the brain or the brain itself is abducted and here leads to vascular occlusion. Such clots often come from the heart or the carotid arteries.

Another type of stroke is caused by a cerebral thrombosis, which occurs at local Blutpfropfenbildung in a vessel of the brain. Blood clots form in arteries damaged by atherosclerosis, a disease in which thick, irregular, cholesterol-containing deposits build up on artery walls.

However, inflammation, vascular spasms, migraine and tumors can cause a stroke. The bloody stroke is the result of tearing of a blood vessel in the brain (called cerebral hemorrhage or intracerebral hemorrhage). It occurs when an artery to a damaged Rißblutung occurs, flooding the surrounding brain tissue with blood. Intracerebral hemorrhage often occur in association with high blood pressure.

However, a vessel ruptures between the brain and skull bones, it is called a subarachnoid hemorrhage.

Finally, a blood circulation disorder runoff and thus ensure the supply of the brain dramatically in question. The clinical symptoms, of course, possible complications and treatment are each completely different.
