Strokes in people with narrowing of the anterior jugular vein can be avoided in the future.

You should already be operating before a circulatory disorder occurs in the brain.

This report vascular surgeon at the Congress of the German Surgical Society in Munich. In a recent study of 3,000 patients in Britain and Germany could now be shown to benefit people with severe narrowing of the carotid artery (carotid stenosis) of an operation, even if they had previously never experienced a stroke or its precursors.

This applies only to designated centers where the surgical risk is very low. Per year in Germany, operates 20 000 bottlenecks.

Experts suspect, however, that half a million have carotid German, many of which were new to the assessment of potential surgical candidates. That would push the number of operations up tremendously.

Every year, people in Germany about 200.00 a stroke. With about 30,000 of those affected to a narrowing or occlusion of the anterior jugular vein is responsible.

The bottlenecks caused by atherosclerosis, and are easily recognized by ultrasound examination. So far, carotid stenosis were operated on to prevent a second stroke after the first had already taken place.
